Clinical Sports Massage & Remedial Therapy
with Angila Conington
As a fully qualified Sports Massage Therapist, my treatments are centred around remedial therapy that focuses on the musculoskeletal system. I use a range of massage techniques within a general framework of assessment, maintenance and rehabilitation. Treatments are geared towards specific injury rehabilitation, body maintenance, pregnancy issues, and general tension relief associated with stress and overwork.
Are you suffering from an injury?
If you have a specific injury I will work with you to understand the cause and decide a bespoke treatment plan which might include massage therapy and strengthening exercises. I understand the frustrations associated with being injured and we will work together to alleviate pain and get you back doing the things you love as quickly as possible.
Do you need support to keep you doing the activities you love?
If you lead an active life and need support to maintain regular runs, workouts or gardening, I can work on fatigued muscles to keep you on the go. If you are training for a key goal such as a marathon, I can help you to better understand your body, helping you to perform to the best of your ability.

Soft Tissue Therapy involves a variety of massage styles and soft tissue techniques:
- Deep Tissue Massage
Targets deep layers of muscle and connective tissue. The deep strokes break up stubborn knots and tight soft tissues. - Clinical Sports Massage
Focuses on treating and preventing injury whilst also enhancing athletic performance. - Remedial Therapy
A modality that incorporates numerous techniques to treat musculoskeletal imbalances and chronic/acute pain. Techniques include deep tissue massage, trigger point therapy, myofascial release, muscle energy techniques and stretching. - Pregnancy Massage
Customised to a woman’s individual needs. Performed with the woman on her side using a selection of deep and therapeutic techniques.

Sports and remedial massage therapy is not just for athletes. Whether you are a busy office worker, a soon-to-be mum, or a marathon runner, a bespoke treatment plan can help you get the results you need. There are a number of benefits to sports massage:
- Reduced Muscle Soreness: sports massage can get muscles moving by lengthening, easing and softening, making them more supple and relaxed.
- Increased Mobility and Flexibility: massage can restore movement and functionality in stiff and aching muscles.
- Injury Prevention: a good sports massage therapist can teach you about your body, and the way it responds and interacts with your working environment. This can promote an understanding of how to prevent further pain and injury.
- Physical and Psychological Benefits: massages can invigorate the mind and body, reducing stress and anxiety whilst promoting relaxation.
- Increased Performance: well-maintained muscles will allow you to run faster, lift heavier, swim further and walk longer.
- Decreased Recovery Time: sports massages help speed up recovery time between workouts.
- Increased Blood Circulation: massaging muscles increases oxygen and nutrient uptake, as well as helping the body remove any unwanted toxins.
